Saya lihat di Alkitab bahasa Indonesia perikop Efesus 1 tsb. Dis situ ada penggunaan kata "kita" dan "kami". Kalo saya mengikuti analsis hubaya, maka seharusnya kata "we" di Efesus 1:4 bukan "kita", melainkan "kami". Sehingga jadinya:
"Sebab di dalam Dia Allah telah memilih kami [bukan "kita"] sebelum dunia dijadikan, supaya kami [bukan "kita"]kudus dan tak bercacat di hadapan-Nya." "Kami" merujuk pada orang-orang who first trusted (ay 13). Benarkah begitu? CMIIW ya.
Namun, di sebuah Alkitab online, kata "we" di Ef 1:4 tsb disilangkan dng ayat di 2 Tes 2:13 yang berbunyi:
"Akan tetapi kami harus selalu mengucap syukur kepada Allah karena kamu, saudara-saudara, yang dikasihi Tuhan, sebab Allah dari mulanya telah memilih kamu untuk diselamatkan dalam Roh yang menguduskan kamu dan dalam kebenaran yang kamu percayai."
Saya lihat, ayat di Tes tsb mengindikasikan bahwa pemilihan Allah sebelum dunia dijadikan tidak hanya dikenakan pada orang-orang who first trusted tetapi juga orang-orang yang percaya atas pemberitaan mereka.
Bila saya tarik lagi ke Ef 1:4, maka tidak salah apabila kata "we" diterjemahkan dng "kita" karena baik orang-orang who first trusted dan orang-orang yg percaya karena pemberitaan mereka sama-sama berstatus dipilih Allah sebelum dunia dijadikan.
Bagaimana menurut hubaya ttg cara baca saya ini?
Kalau saya bacanya 1 pasal Efesus, dan imo langsung terlihat signifikan bro.. dengan begitu, saya tidak mensintesis dengan ayat lain.
v 3-12, Paulus menggunakan kata ganti orang pertama jamak. (us, we, our).3 Blessed be the God and Father of
our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed
us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,
4 just as He chose
us in Him before the foundation of the world, that
we should be holy and without blame before Him in love,
5 having predestined
us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will,
6 to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made
us accepted in the Beloved.
7 In Him
we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace
8 which He made to abound toward
us in all wisdom and prudence,

Begitu v 13, Paulus mengubah kata ganti menjadi orang kedua jamak. (you, your).13 In Him
you also trusted, after
you heard the word of truth, the gospel of
your salvation; in whom also, having believed,
you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise,
14 who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.
15 Therefore I also, after I heard of
your faith in the Lord Jesus and
your love for all the saints,
16 do not cease to give thanks for
you, making mention of
you in my prayers:
17 that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to
you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him,
18 the eyes of
your understanding being enlightened; that
you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints…
C1 (konklusi awal-cmiiw): Interpretasi literal berdasar 'kata ganti' dengan basis membaca 1 pasal penuh:- Paulus memasukkan dirinya pada v 3-12
- Paulus memasukkan pembaca efesus dalam grup yang berbeda.
- Pada v 12, Paulus mengidentifikasikan dirinya sebagai 'grup yang pertama percaya' [dalam hal ini saya asumsikan yahudi termasuk murid2 Tuhan ring 12, ring 70, Simeon, dll yang mengharapkan Mesias]

Hal senada diutarakan juga oleh Tertullian:"Again, what Christ do the following words announce, when the Apostle says, 'That we should be to the praise of His glory, who first trusted in Christ?' Now, who could have first trusted — ie., previously trusted — in God, before His advent, besides Jews to whom Christ was previously announced from the beginning? He who was thus foretold, was also foretrusted. Hence, the Apostle refers the statement to himself, that is, to the Jews, in order that he may draw a distinction with respect to the Gentiles, (when he goes on to say:) 'In whom you also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel (of your salvation); in whom ye believed, and were sealed with His Holy Spirit of promise'."
